Microtronix was formed in 1993 by owner/CEO Mike Goodyer with the primary business being
electronic contract manufacturing for smart card readers; cashless gaming; and the casino and
vending industries. Since then Microtronix has successfully grown to become a major player in the SMT industry in South Africa
specialising in PC board assembly for the mining, military, automotive and various commercial
The premise has a total floor space of approximately 5000m squared for manufacture and assembly Microtronix South Africa has over time become among the largest electronic contract manufacturers in the country employing over 280 people. To maintain the necessary quality standards
Microtronix adheres to ISO9001, SABS and IPC protocols.
Our staff are highly trained and motivated in each of their positions within the company and are
regularly trained to keep up to date with new technology and any changes in the industry.
The company belongs to the metal industries bargaining council and adheres to the council's main
CEO and owner – Mike Goodyer, over 20 years' experience in contract manufacturing and PC board assembly.
Operations Manager - Shaun Rampursad, qualified engineer, 25 Years' experience in electronic manufacturing.
Non Exec – Louise Goodyer, 20 years' experience in contract manufacturing administration and a qualified educational psychologist.
There are currently about seven noteworthy players in the Industry. Microtronix South Africa has about 15% local market share and prides itself in high quality and fast turn-around production. Microtronix South Africa has 11 high speed, state of the art lines and the current capacity to produce over 150 000 boards per month.
